The consequence, the man lost part of the back of his foot in the attack, along with severed tendons, torn muscles, and several broken bones.
Following the incident, the injured man was taken to the Prince Hashem Military Hospital in the port city. He underwent a surgical procedure on his right foot, and his condition has been reported as stable
According to local media, Mohammad Qatawneh, a representative of the Aqaba International Dive Centre, expressed that while the shark attack was alarming, such incidents are exceedingly rare in the Gulf of Aqaba.
Qatawneh explained that the Gulf of Aqaba is home to various shark species, including reef sharks and guitar sharks. However, he emphasized that none of these species are considered dangerous. Sharks are typically not found in shallow waters off the Jordanian coast, making encounters with them even more unlikely

In response to the incident, the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority has launched an investigation to gather further details. Nayef Al Bakhit, a representative of the authority, stated, 'The committee will issue a detailed statement about what happened as soon as they complete the investigation.
The incident where a shark was spotted in the shallow water was not rare. Previously, at Florida beaches, swimmers panicked and sought safety after spotting a shark swimming in shallow water.
As the huge shark surged through the shallows, beachgoers in Florida were heard shouting, 'Get out of the water!', 'Come out!', 'Hurry, hurry!' Some beachgoers even rushed to run out of the water, while others enjoyed recording this astonishing scene.
According to the report from the Pensacola News Journal, Cristy Cox, who captured the video, stated that the shark was simply in search of its next meal and no damage was reported.
