It appeared like an interesting walk to start a new day at first. But it seems someone got into trouble due to his playfulness.

While a dog was engrossed in chasing a flock of geese, it fell into an icy river and couldn't swim to shore.

According to reports, when Oliver and his owner were walking near the icy river, the dog started noticing a few geese surrounding the area and chasing them.

While chasing down geese, Oliver suddenly jumped down the icy river and got stuck in the middle of that.

Despite the attempts to come back, Oliver couldn't swim to the shore and desperately struggled in the midpoint of the glacier.

Firefighters successfully rescued the playful dog

Oliver's owner quickly reached out to Indiana firefighters to ask for help. After a short time, firefighters arrived promptly to rescue the small dog.

In the pictures, one of the firefighters braved the icy weather by wading across glaciers in St. Joseph to pull Oliver to shore.

Another case of a dog falling into the icy river

Last December, a similar situation to Oliver also occurred at Lake Superior.

The Duluth Minnesota Fire Department received an emergency call about a dog that accidentally fell into the icy Lake Superior.

The rescue team arrived promptly and overcame large waves to bring the dog to shore.

Although the dog seemed exhausted, it was rushed to the vet promptly to recover and returned home a few days later.
