Mum reveals the ultimate life hack: Using TINFOIL on dinner table to avoid using the dishwasher

Rebecca Cubberly, a 28-year-old mother from Telford, Shropshire, has come across a brilliant life hack that saves her time and effort when it comes to dishwashing.

Instead of using plates and cutlery, she has devised a method to serve her family of four without the need for post-meal cleanup.

She laid down five strips of tin foil on her dining room table and then loaded it up with minced meat, vegetables, nachos, cheese, and wraps, allowing her family to gather around and help themselves.

Rebecca, who typically would have had to wash five bowls and a frying pan, opted to cook the minced meat in an air fryer, and the family enjoyed their meal with their hands.

This simple solution allowed her to save a significant amount of time, as she only had to dispose of the tin foil.

She estimated that she saved around half an hour of washing up. As a result, she assigned the task of bathing their children, Jack, aged six, and Evie, aged four, to her husband Karl, who is 30 years old, while she took a well-deserved break.

Rebecca explained, 'We like picky meals and this way is more fun and the clean up afterward was great, I had a knife and a chopping board to clean.'

'It was that easy I told my husband to do bath time and I'd tidy up. I thought, "There is no washing up, so I'll do it tonight and he can have the difficult job of doing bath time".

She also pointed out that although there was packaging for some items, she tried to minimize waste. For instance, she purchased minced beef that she could split to make another meal, and she made her own taco seasoning instead of buying it pre-packaged.

Rebecca said that her kids were so delighted with the tin foil idea that she decided to FaceTime her mother to share their reactions.

She added: 'We'll 100 percent be doing it again, we'll be trying it with lots of different things like pizza and Plowman's or when we have a picky tea or when I'm just not in the mood to wash up.'
