Shocking moment: Doctors discover spider and its colony of babies living in woman's ear

Video from the endoscope shows doctors probing the patient's right ear with special forceps.

They come across what looks like an eardrum but turns out to be a smooth web, meticulously woven by the spiders that have made it home.

After several attempts to pull the web back, the creepy spider, which was feeding a family, jumped out from behind and made a beeline for the detector.

Doctors were stunned when they saw the big-eyed black spider, but luckily it wasn't venomous. The woman initially went to the hospital suspected of tinnitus, but her condition quickly became worse.

Upon investigation, medical professionals determined that the source of the woman's discomfort and peculiar sounds was due to the presence of a spider residing within her ear. Dr. Han Xinglong, an otolaryngologist, spoke to the press about the incident.

With its web resembling the eardrum, doctors initially failed to detect anything unusual when they inserted the otoscope. However, upon closer inspection, they noticed movement underneath the web.

According to Han Xinglong, the otolaryngology doctor who treated the patient, "I pushed the web aside and the spider was about to run away, but we were able to remove it without any complications."

The woman's ear canal sustained only minor damage despite the frightening experience. The hospital advised individuals not to remove the foreign objects themselves and urged them to seek professional help where possible due to the risk of further injury.

This isn't the first time surgeons have spotted spiders living in patients' ears.

Back in 2019, after a man complained of itching, doctors were surprised to find an eight-legged creature living in his ear during an exam. Surgeons saw nothing unusual with their bear's eye, but with the help of a microscope, they saw a gray spider in the patient's ear canal.
