Kimberly Winter is known for her loud burps. Despite her parents' repeated requests to burp softly, she never complied, Winter said. Even while practicing dancing, she uses hiccups to entertain her friends.
As Winter grew up, her boyfriend asked her not to burp in front of her family. One day, when Winter was asked to leave a bar in Ocean City, Maryland, after drinking beer and belching, she realized that her burps were louder than she had imagined.
Winter said that despite the mixed reactions she encountered, she takes pride in her ability to burp loudly, saying, 'I just kind of like being loud and proud.'
Kimberly Winter uploaded a video of herself loudly burping on social media in September 2022. Viewers were taken aback by the sound of Kimberly Winter's burp.
She told her followers that she could produce burps after eating various foods. Winter enjoys entertaining her fans and is an active presence on social media, responding to their requests for her loud burps.
In the initial stages, she recorded a belch reaching 109 dB and contacted Guinness World Records to have her achievement verified. However, their response outlined that to surpass Cagnoni's record, she must produce the winning burp under specific circumstances.
This requires the presence of two witnesses and the recording of the feat within a noise-controlled environment. The documentation should be overseen by a sound engineer using a microphone set at a predetermined distance from her—eight feet and two inches.
Upon arriving at the studio, she came equipped with a Coors Light and had eaten a selection of chosen foods beforehand.
During Winter's interview on the show, she intermittently burped. Eventually, she announced her readiness to make her attempt. Unfortunately, her initial three belches were too quiet, measuring 97.5, 107, and 103 decibels
However, her last burp, which set a new record, reached 107.3 decibels. In her conversation with The Post, she expressed her joy at breaking the Guinness World Record for the world's LOUDEST burp.
"I'm really excited that I beat it," she said. "But I'm even more excited to break the record again."
