A happy wedding in Mexico turned into a terrible situation when about 100 guests got sick after eating the food. Many of them had to go to the hospital.
The incident, which occurred in Cuernavaca, led to approximately 80 individuals requiring hospitalization due to severe food poisoning.
Disturbing footage of the incident was initially shared on TikTok but has since been taken down.
Aranza Rodríguez was one of the guests affected by the incident. She was invited to the wedding as a guest of the groom.
When she got to the place around 8 to 9 p.m., she saw that many people were already feeling really sick with symptoms like diarrhea, vomiting, headaches, and stomachaches.
She had wild mushrooms with goat's cheese and tomato sauce as a starter, and then she had chicken with spinach, tarragon, sweet potato purée, and asparagus.
It remains unclear which specific course caused the widespread illness among the guests.
Aranza had to be taken away from the event because she was feeling so bad, and then she ended up in the hospital. She had to get treatment through a tube in her arm.
Some guests could leave the hospital after four to five hours, but others had to stay there for several days.
In one video, two women were sitting on a chair, and it looked like they had just thrown up. The bride and groom were said to have helped the guests who were affected.
Food poisoning can occur due to various factors, including improper cooking, consumption of spoiled food, or food left out for too long.
The NHS advises those who experience food poisoning to stay at home and drink plenty of water to prevent dehydration.
