Cheryl McGregor, a 63-year-old grandma from Rome, Georgia, and her 26-year-old husband Quran McCain, recently hosted an extravagant gender reveal party for their first upcoming child.
Cheryl and Quran, who have a 37-year age gap, first met in 2012 when Quran was just 15 years old and Cheryl was 52.
Despite the significant age difference, they decided to get married and have become a TikTok-famous couple.
Last year, the couple revealed that they would be having a child through surrogacy, as Cheryl is past the age where she could naturally conceive.
Recently, they held a lavish gender reveal party filled with colorful balloons and smoke grenades to share the exciting news that they will be welcoming a baby girl.
In the shared video footage, Cheryl can be seen wearing a pink dress with the words "Mommy to be" printed on it.
The couple first attempted to pop balloons to unveil the baby's gender, but when both blue and pink appeared, they realized their guests had played a trick on them.
They then headed outside to release colored smoke grenades, which ultimately revealed that they were having a daughter.
Cheryl has 7 children and 17 grandchildren between them. This will be her first child with her younger husband, and they are thrilled to be expanding their family once again.
Cheryl, who will be 63 years old when the baby is born, expressed her happiness about becoming a mother again, stating, "I'm so excited to meet my little girl. Even at my age, I still have so much love to give."
Quran, the soon-to-be-dad also shared his happiness, saying "Cheryl is going to be the best mom. I'm honored to start this new chapter of our lives together and give our daughter the family she deserves."
In a video, Quran broke down in tears as he told followers he had been 'going through hell' for the past two weeks.
On Father's Day, he received a text at 6am from the surrogate saying she no longer wanted to go through with it. The surrogate's mother also got involved, claiming the couple is doing this all for 'likes and views."
In a follow-up video, Cheryl and Quran stated the surrogate has since contacted them saying she is keeping the baby.
As a result, they said they'd have to delay their planned gender reveal, but are still determined to continue their surrogacy journey.
The laws around surrogacy in the US are complex, with no federal laws in place. Each state has different allowances and processes for surrogacy arrangements.
Their love story started in 2012 at Dairy Queen where they both worked. They met again in 2020, reconnected, and fell in love. They got married in September 2021 and are now eager to have a child together.
Despite their age gap, Cheryl and the Quran understand that the Quran might end up raising their child alone.
However, they trust each other and believe they can handle any challenges ahead. Cheryl sees Quran as a responsible and mature potential father.
Initially, their decision to have a child met mixed reactions from their families. Over time, five of Cheryl's children have come around to accept and support their choice.
