Chuando Tan, a well-known photographer from the energetic city of Singapore, won acclaim for both his stunning self-images and his mesmerizing portraits of others. Despite being born in 1967, Chuando, now 51 years old, possesses an astonishingly youthful appearance that belies his actual age.
Having worked as a model in the 1980s and even pursued a career as a pop singer in the '90s, Chuando Tan, a Singaporean man, made a transition into photography when his singing career began to fade. Unexpectedly, a departure from his usual work opened up new opportunities for him.
In an interview, Chuando recalled, "I decided to create an Instagram account after friends mentioned that clients nowadays take a photographer's social media following into consideration. To add some life to my feed, I started sharing my thoughts through captions and posted a few self-portraits."
Users quickly took notice of Chuando's seemingly ageless appearance despite being 51. There were other theories; some attributed it to genetics, while others praised Singapore's pristine environment, first-rate services, and premium goods. Let's delve into the photographer's daily routine to verify these conjectures.
According to Chuando, diet accounts for 70% of the equation when determining general wellbeing and physical appearance, while exercise makes up the remaining 30%. This philosophy influences his decisions, such as eating six hard-boiled eggs for breakfast but skipping the two yolks because of cholesterol worries. He drinks a glass of milk with his breakfast and occasionally includes avocado and berries to add extra protein and energy to start the day.
Throughout the day, Chuando's meals consist of chicken with rice, grilled vegetables, and fish soup. He exclusively eats ice cream during the early half of the day, despite his weakness for it. Chuando chooses to drink lots of water instead of coffee or tea on purpose.
In terms of exercise, Chuando incorporates strength training into his routine, aiming for four weekly sessions but adjusting to at least three when he's busy. He spends around 30 minutes on this activity. After strength training, he follows it up with cardio training, preferring brisk walking on a treadmill over jogging due to a knee injury. Additionally, he prioritizes swimming and aims to swim for about an hour every day in the evening.
While there have been speculations about Chuando undergoing plastic surgery or using special cosmetics, he clarifies his approach, stating, "I have sensitive skin, which is why I only use two things daily: gel face wash and moisturizing cream."
Although Chuando received a Botox procedure in the past as a gift, he was dissatisfied with the outcome and decided against further visits to cosmetologists. He does, however, acknowledge using hair colour to cover up his gray hair.
Actually, Chuando prioritizes sleeping regularly by avoiding staying up past 11 PM and rising early every day. He is adamant that staying up late working or watching movies after midnight are detrimental to one's health. To get a good night's sleep, he skips eating 5 to 6 hours before bed.
Chuando asserts, "Trust me, going to bed early is worth it. When you've had enough sleep, you'll be able to accomplish more during the day than if you work at night."
During a recent interview for a longevity series, Chuando openly acknowledged that the constant inquiries about his timeless appearance "eventually get to me. I do feel the pressure because, deep down, I know I'm not that young. I'm aging. I won't thus mislead people into thinking that I'm always young. Perhaps everyone wants a shortcut, a secret to maintaining their youth, right?"
Chuando reflects on the process of growing old and contemplates the thoughts that cross his mind. "I would be lying if I said that I never thought about learning how not to age But it's something that we can't avoid because aging is inevitable" he states bluntly.
When Chuando Tan experienced the overwhelming surge of viral fame, he found himself inundated with an immense amount of attention. He has even spoken about the downsides of internet fame, acknowledging the challenges that come with it.
