Belongings of older women dumped on NYC streets as trash after her passing

In a viral video on social media, the belongings of an elderly woman were dumped on the streets of NYC after her passing, leading to widespread criticism.

A TikTok video went viral, showcasing the abandoned belongings of a deceased art collector.

The influencer, Anna Sacks, shared the video on TikTok, which garnered numerous comments from users.

The video depicted the abandoned items outside a luxury apartment building in Manhattan, causing an outcry from residents of New York

They were seen callously abandoning a late-art collector's belongings, leaving numerous people outraged after watching the video. 

According to the video, which was posted by influencer Anna Sacks, the prose belongs to Diane Greene, 79, who passed away. 

In the overlay screen, she wrote:

A two-minute-long video showed that Sacks guided the camera through a disarray of possessions strewn outside The Alameda, an upscale high-rise on the Upper West Side.

According to Anna Sacks, these items are said to have belonged to Diane Greene, a 79-year-old co-op owner who recently passed away. 

The video has also showcased the variety of her possessions.

The video displays framed paintings, an ornate wooden table, a Singer sewing machine still nestled in its brown leather carry case, and numerous other belongings crammed into black trash bags.

According to Anna Sacks, the objective of the building is to quickly empty the apartment for renovation and list it at a high price.

Anna supposed that the deceased's next of kin did not want anything, and her task was to empty everything from the apartment and revise the markings.

The influencer salvaged several items herself, primarily homeware and clothing, along with an unopened bottle of champagne. In the video, she tries on various garments, showcasing a brown button-up shirt, a ruffled blue jacket, a red double-breasted jacket with a matching skirt, and a lacy floral-embroidered shirt.

These pieces reflect Greene's exquisite taste and her passion for the arts, which is further evident from the colorful paintings discovered among the discarded belongings, as well as a framed etching by 19th-century French artist Xavier Le Sueur.

The video quickly went viral on social media and gained outrage among netizens

After a 24-hour upload, the video quickly went viral, garnered over 1.5 million views, and sparked debate on social media. 

In the comment selection, numerous people rush to leave their thoughts and emotions.

One person said: Wait, Diane Green passed away?!  She was an extremely talented artist and I saw some of her artwork/photography back in the 90s/00s. I'm so glad u.

A second wrote: My lord, Diane Green, you have lovely interesting things. I’m so sorry your family didn’t realize it. I hope you had a happy life x.

A third commented: I hope when my time comes, people come along, gather my things, and appreciate them for my lifelong, collecting of beautiful, antiques and lamps….

I thought the video was a reminder of the importance of honoring the belongings and memories left behind by those who have passed away.
