Billy Ray Cyrus, the famous country music icon, has filed for divorce from his wife Firerose just 7 months after their marriage in October 2023.
The divorce filing allegedly came after irreconcilable differences and inappropriate marital conduct
Cyrus, 62, and Firerose, whose legal name is Johanna Rose Hodges, had been close friends for years before their relationship blossomed during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The couple began dating in 2022 and eventually got married in a ceremony they described as 'the most perfect, ethereal celebration of love we could have ever imagined.'
However, the marital bliss was short-lived, as Cyrus has now filed for a divorce from the marriage, citing fraud as the reason.
The court documents indicate that Cyrus has given Firerose until May 24th to leave their shared home and has provided her with temporary housing for 10 days at $500 per night.
This is not Cyrus' first marriage, as he was previously married to Cindy Smith from 1986 to 1991 and then to Tish Cyrus, with whom he shared a daughter, Miley Cyrus, for three decades until their divorce in April 2022.
During their relationship, Cyrus and Firerose had collaborated on several songs, including "New Day," "Time," "Plans," and "After the Storm."
Firerose had described Cyrus as the "love of [her] life," and the pair had publicly spoken about their strong connection, with Cyrus even using the term "peanut butter and jelly" to describe their relationship.
The sudden divorce after such a short-lived marriage has left many fans and industry observers surprised and saddened.
The reasons behind the breakdown of the relationship remain largely unknown, as Cyrus and Firerose have not yet publicly commented on the matter.
Tish said she went through 30 days where she was not eating, not sleeping, and felt like she was "coming out of her skin". This was a very scary experience for her.
In a candid interview, Tish, now 56 years old, admitted that the decision to divorce was "terrifying" for her.
After three decades together and raising five children, she was unsure about the prospect of being alone. "I thought I was going to be alone forever," Tish admitted.
In their joint statement announcing the split, Tish and Billy Ray, 62, said they were parting "not with sadness, but with love in our hearts."
They acknowledged that after 30 years, five children, and a lifetime of memories, it was time for them to "create our own paths."
Tish married to actor Dominic Purcell in August 2023, while Billy Ray married Australian singer Firerose just two months later.
The divorce process seems to have taken an emotional toll on the family.
Tish's daughter Miley, 31, notably did not mention her father during her Grammy acceptance speech for Record of the Year, leading to speculation of a family rift.
