Billy Ray Cyrus has recently filed for divorce from his wife, Firerose, and is now seeking a temporary restraining order as part of the ongoing legal proceedings.
The country star is taking this step to regain control over his finances, which he claims have been compromised by Firerose.
The divorce filing took place on May 22nd in a Tennessee court, with Cyrus citing "inappropriate marital conduct" as the reason for the dissolution of their marriage.
In addition to filing for divorce, Cyrus has also filed an emergency motion for a temporary restraining order against Firerose, alleging that she has been making unauthorized use of his credit card.
The couple's marriage, which lasted for approximately seven months, has been marred by irreconcilable differences and allegations of inappropriate behavior.
TMZ was the first to report on the divorce and the subsequent restraining order request.
According to their sources, Cyrus is seeking an immediate annulment of the marriage on grounds of fraud and has given Firerose until May 24th to vacate their shared residence.
As part of the divorce proceedings, Cyrus has offered to pay $5,000 per month for a period of 90 days or until the divorce is finalized to cover Firerose's accommodation expenses.
However, he now wants to prevent her from making any unauthorized charges on his personal and professional bank accounts and credit cards.
Cyrus has provided evidence of alleged fraudulent activity and unauthorized charges, amounting to a staggering $96,986. This includes a payment of $70,665 to Firerose's attorneys.
In an affidavit submitted to the court, Cyrus expressed his concerns about Firerose potentially having access to additional information that could be used for further fraudulent charges.
He is seeking a temporary restraining order to protect his business and personal finances from any further unauthorized use.
Firerose, through her attorney, has denied the accusations and claims that she had permission to use Cyrus' credit cards.
Her legal team argues that throughout their marriage, it was customary for them to discuss and review expenses made on the specific card in question.
They assert that Cyrus does not have the right to cut her off from these financial resources.
Cyrus contends that Firerose has significant assets at her disposal, including over half a million dollars in liquid and investment assets and valuable real estate in Los Angeles.
He is requesting that she reimburse or return any items purchased with the alleged unauthorized charges made on his account.
Both Billy Ray Cyrus and Firerose's representatives have been approached for comment but have yet to respond.
