The marriage between Britney Spear and Sam Asghari lasted just 14 months after Sam Asghari filed for divorce from the pop star.
However, in the interview with Pepple, the fitness instructor has now opened up about the heartbreaking cause of their divorce.
The couple started dating in 2017 and got engaged in 2021. Then, the former couple tied the knot on June 9, 2022, in an extravagant ceremony at Britney's California home.
However, after just 14 months of marriage, Sam Asghari filed for divorce from Britney Spears, and he has now opened up about the heartbreaking cause of their split.
During a recent interview with People, the fitness instructor turned actor expressed his gratitude for the time spent with the renowned singer, stating:
"It was a blessing to be able to share life with someone for a long time. And people grow apart and people move on."
Sam, aged 29, initiated the divorce proceedings, citing 'irreconcilable differences', which came as a surprise to Britney, who took to Instagram to address the news, writing: "6 years is a long time to be with someone so, I'm a little shocked but … I'm not here to explain why because its honestly nobody's business, but, I couldn't take the pain anymore honestly."
Speaking with People magazine, Sam emphasized that he would never speak ill of his relationship with Britney, stating: "I never understood when people part ways [and] they talk badly about each other.
"That's something I'm never going to do because I had nothing but an amazing experience and a great life, and that's always going to be part of my life, a chapter of my life." Sam filed for divorce from Britney citing "irreconcilable differences".
Following the public disclosure of the news, the hitmaker of "Toxic" released a statement on her Instagram, stating, "As everyone knows, Hesam and I are no longer together," she said. "6 years is a long time to be with someone so, I'm a little shocked but … I'm not here to explain why because its honestly nobody’s business !!! But, I couldn't take the pain anymore honestly !!!"
He also describes his time with the hitmaker 'Toxic' as something beautiful.
“I always have the most positive mindset about life. My experiences in life have shaped me into the man I am today. I will continue growing. I come from a place where we celebrate our past,” he says. “I look back fondly. My past was a blessing and beautiful.”
As he prepares for his 30th birthday this month, the fitness instructor, who stood by Britney's side during her conservatorship battle last year, focuses on maintaining a healthy lifestyle and advancing his career. n
