On TikTok platform, one user, who goes by @ shared  a video on this platform, revealed the story about Chocolate and family drama.

Claire Dinhut, a prominent voice on TikTok, recently delved into the 'family drama' that shaped M&M's, which gained attention on social media. 

The video has the caption: "m&m family drama!!!"

In the footage,  Claire Dinhut revealed the saga began with Forrest E. Mars Sr., who had a falling out with his father, the original owner of Mars Inc.

According to her account, Forrest seeked to strile out his own by collaborating with Bruce Murrie, son of Hershey executive William Murrie.

Claire Dinhut recalled the birth of M&M's

Claire Dinhut recounted the inception of M&M's. Continuing the story, Dinhut explained that during a visit to Europe, Forrest Mars Sr. encountered a novel concept: chocolate covered in a candy coating.

Reluctant to share this innovation with his father, he turned to Hershey's for collaboration. Working alongside Bruce Murrie, they developed what would become M&M's, naming the candy after themselves—Mars and Murrie, hence 'M&M'.

She said: 'They called them Mars, like the first guy's last name, and Murrie the second guy's last name, M&M.' 

M&M's were created before  World War II

The timing of M&M's creation proved serendipitous, as World War II erupted shortly thereafter.

The candies gained prominence when they became a staple in American soldiers' rations, owing to their heat-resistant and easy-to-transport properties.

This wartime association bolstered M&M's reputation and solidified their place in American culture.

She added:  "  'The reason it all popped off is they created it right before World War Two and in World War Two they made this deal with the government that in every soldier's bag were M&M's.' 

It wasn't until 1950 that M&M's acquired their signature 'M' stamp, a mark of authenticity that reassured consumers of their quality. Over the decades, M&M's have become synonymous with both innovation and tradition in the confectionery world.

In the comments section, many were shocked by the drama of the M&M bird. Meanwhile, someone was fascinated by the history of the popular chocolate.

A second wrote:  Not my grandfather from WWII working for M&Ms after he got back and getting free candy all the time. They got him good I guess.
