His relationship with Rowling has been strained in recent years following her comments about the trans community.
Back in 2020, Rowling caused a stir while poking fun at a charity for using the term 'people who menstruate', leading to accusations of transphobia.
Since then, Rowling has spoken publicly about her views on sex and gender.
Her stance sparked debate on social media, including responses from the Harry Potter actors.
This has led to a fractured relationship between Rowling and the Harry Potter stars, including Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson.
Following Radcliffe criticized Rowling's views on transgender rights. some have suggested that the cast are 'ungrateful' because they might not have become so successful without the Harry Potter books.
Rowling made it clear that if Radcliffe and Watson begged her for forgiveness for their support of trans rights, they should 'save their apologies'.
He noted that while Rowling's work has made a huge impact on his life, that doesn’t mean he should automatically agree with her stances on things.
He said, "There’s a version of ‘Are these three kids ungrateful brats?’ that people have always wanted to write, and they were finally able to. So, good for them, I guess."
He further expressed that the whole situation 'makes him really sad, ultimately', adding: "Because I do look at the person that I met, the times that we met, and the books that she wrote, and the world that she created, and all of that is to me so deeply empathic."
He added:"But that doesn’t mean that you owe the things you truly believe to someone else for your entire life."
In a new interview, Radcliffe addressed the spat between them.
Daniel Radcliffe said that while she is responsible for his fame, that doesn’t mean he should automatically agree with her stances on things.
He said: “It makes me really sad, ultimately.
“Because I do look at the person that I met, the times that we met, and the books that she wrote, and the world that she created, and all of that is to me so deeply empathic.”
He added: “Jo, obviously Harry Potter would not have happened without her, so nothing in my life would have probably happened the way it is without that person,”
“But that doesn’t mean that you owe the things you truly believe to someone else for your entire life.”
