According to Coca-Cola company, both Diet Coke and Coke Zero are free of sugar and calories. However, the company admits that the two drinks have distinct flavor profiles.

Diet Coke has a lighter taste due to a different blend of flavors, while Coke Zero aims to closely resemble the original taste of Coca-Cola.

The key distinction between Diet Coke and Coke Zero lies in their sweeteners.

Diet Coke is sweetened with aspartame, a popular artificial sweetener. On the other hand, Coke Zero contains both aspartame and acesulfame potassium (Ace-K) as sweeteners.

This difference in sweeteners contributes to the difference in taste between the two beverages.

Both aspartame and Ace-K have received FDA approval and are considered safe when consumed in moderation.

Concerns were raised about the effects of aspartame.

However, there have been debates and worries about the health effects of aspartame, including a potential connection to cancer.

The scientific research on this topic has not reached a definitive conclusion.

Regulatory agencies such as the WHO and FDA have stated that aspartame is safe to consume as long as it is within the recommended limits.

Both Diet Coke and Coke Zero have their own loyal following. Some people enjoy the lighter taste of Diet Coke, while others prefer the closer similarity to the original Coca-Cola flavor found in Coke Zero.

I was drinking a Coke Zero and said a couple of times, out loud near my phone, how good this Coke Zero is despite being sugar free (I don’t drink pop often so it’s a treat), one user said.

I Taste difference. I like Coke Zero. Cannot do the diet at all, the second said.

I drink Coke Zero, never Diet Coke. Diet Coke tastes like decaf coffee, the third user commented.

Diet Coke is the best! Cannot stand Coke Zero…won’t drink Diet. Having said that I limit my intake of Diet Coke as it’s horrible for you lol, another wrote.
