Internet trends come and go, with some gaining more traction than others due to their outlandish nature. However, this particular trend might just take the cake for being the most bizarre.
A peculiar trend is making waves on the internet, with people ordering Dr Pepper with pickles from fast food restaurants.
This trend has amassed millions of views on TikTok, the popular video-sharing platform.
On May 1st, a TikTok user known as Mississippi Memaw, who goes by the handle @mississippimemaw, documented this trend in action.
In her video, she can be seen ordering a Dr Pepper filled with pickles at the drive-through of her local Sonic takeaway.
"Do y’all like pickles? Do y’all like Dr Pepper? Well, come on with Memaw, cause Memaw’s fitting to show you something," Memaw began her video.
A restaurant worker then brought out the unusual drink to Memaw, with the pickles added as an extra charge.
Memaw was seen stirring the pickles further into her drink. This unique drink left viewers shocked, with pickles floating amidst the effervescent Dr Pepper.
She continued, "Don’t knock it till you try it. If you like pickles and you like Dr Pepper, and you’re probably like ‘Ew gross, I would never ever drink that,’ but there’s a lot of people that do drink this."
She added, 'Did you hear her, the way she took my order? I’m not the only person that’s ever ordered this, babe.'
She ended the video with a long sip of her drink, encouraging her viewers to give it a try.
However, the customer paid $3.62 to have Dr Pepper mixed into their drink
The worker explained that she had to charge the customization by marking it down as cherries, which is not surprising considering pickles are not typically found in a Dr Pepper!
For the privilege of having some pickles mixed in, Memaw had to pay $3.62.
The video resonated across TikTok, accumulating millions of views and igniting a fervent discourse within the comments section.
In the comments section, many express their disgust for this trend of mixing Dr Pepper in a drink, while others suggest it as an interesting dish and are excited to taste it.
One person said: a peck of pickled dr pepper
A second wrote: The way she didn’t even flinch when you ordered it! My people would not get it!
While a third commented: I got to try this at home bc the way my sonic would call the police on me.
Another added: I have worked for Sonic for over 20+ years and I have never gotten a customer that has ordered a pickle Dr Pepper.
Someone else said: She was so polite. The employees at our Sonic can’t even be bothered to add in the syrups or cherries that we pay for.
We used to freeze Dr. Pepper ice cubes with pickles inside. Another user said.
While this trend might not be for everyone, it certainly has piqued the curiosity of many.
