A diver from Australia was left astonished when an exceptionally intelligent octopus grabbed her hand and guided her to a hidden treasure.
Jules Casey, a freediver, couldn't believe the incredible adventure she experienced as the octopus repeatedly grasped her hand underwater.
The unexpected interaction was captured by an award-winning photographer who happened to be present during the dive.
In a video shared on Jules' social media pages under the handle OneBreathDiver, she expressed her amazement at not knowing where the octopus was leading her.
It felt like they were embarking on a thrilling little expedition together.
On that particular day, the octopus reached out and held Jules' hand, leading her in a direction she wouldn't normally go.
He would pause and turn around occasionally to ensure she was still following.
Jules admitted feeling a bit shocked when they arrived at a headstone, secured between two steel posts.
To her surprise, the headstone bore a photo of a man holding a small white dog.
As she approached the stone from one side and the octopus from the other, it was as if the octopus proudly exclaimed, "Tada! Here it is!"
Jules discovered that the man in the photo was actually a friend's father, who was part of a group of divers working in the area.
Jules felt deeply moved by the experience. She was amazed that the clever octopus had guided her to the headstone.
Trying to understand the octopus's intentions, she realized that its nine brains made it impossible to know what it was thinking.
Some suggested that octopuses are known to be friendly and enjoy interacting with humans.
Maybe he was saying “hey, excuse me, can you clean this garbage up? One user said.
He as probably thinking “get your crap out of my house filthy human, the second user said.
Mother Nature knows how superficial and materialistic human beings are- we’re doomed as a species, the third user said.
Might have mistook the octopus gesture. All its actions are tuned for survival. A swimmer can be alternate food source if drowned and dead, another wrote.
Now get tf out of my ocean, someone joked.
