In a viral post on social media, one Tesla Cybertruck gained attention after a user shared concerns about this future transformation model.
After facing criticism, Elon Musk addressed concerns about the Tesla Cybertruck's door panel gaps following a user's complaint.
Additionally, Elon Musk shed light on the quality control of Tesla's highly anticipated electric pickup truck.
On the X platform, tech YouTuber Marques Brownlee left Tesla owners stunned after sharing a post in which he reviewed the panel gaps in the Tesla Cybertruck.
During his review, he noted, "I think there's going to be something wrong with this door because it literally looks like it's open.
That's pretty bad. I've never seen a gap quite that bad," referring to the driver's side door that appeared to hang about half an inch open even after being closed.
The picture showed a visible flaw in the Cybertruck's door panel alignment, which was particularly troubling for a production vehicle. This issue raised questions about Tesla's quality control processes.
In the comments section, many Tesla fans and critics alike voiced their concerns.
One person said: Yeah this was insane. Totally unacceptable for anyone IMO.
A second wrote: That's pretty bad. Mine is way, way, way better.
While a third commented: Yeah, I think we could all agree that none of us have a truck that looks like that, nor looked like that and needed to go to service. That’s where my shock is at.
Another added: My passenger side door catch thing was loose, both front and back, and caused a gap like this over the course of a trip. Easy fix but it should be a rare occurrence and we know that’s not the case.
Someone else said: It could vary depending on how hard he shut the door
Another user continued: Maybe it's the issue with the door latch
After the incident, Elon Musk responded to the criticism on social media, providing clarity on the issue. "Not a 'door fit' issue," Musk wrote on X. "About 15 Cybertrucks in service had an issue where the door striker loosened in the field, due to insufficient torque after door fit."
He assured that the problem was easy to fix and had been addressed in production, noting it "takes 5 mins to fix in service."
In the interview with Business Insider, Miles Somerville, a producer on Brownlee's show, mentioned using gaffer tape as a temporary fix for the door striker, emphasizing the simplicity of the issue.
"I think a door striker should be relatively simple to not screw up upon delivery," he commented.
In an email obtained by CNBC, Musk emphasized that the truck's design required extreme accuracy in measurements, stating that "any dimensional variation shows up like a sore thumb."
The Cybertruck, being a polarizing vehicle, attracts both fervent supporters and detractors. Musk's engagement in addressing issues promptly is crucial for maintaining Tesla's reputation and ensuring the success of their innovative electric vehicles.
Musk's proactive approach to addressing the matter could help mitigate negative perceptions and reinforce Tesla's commitment to quality.
Now, tell me about your experience with the Tesla Cybertruck?
