However, the first-ever reported accident involving the Cybertruck has left people shocked and questioning the safety of this groundbreaking vehicle.
According to the CHP summary of the accident, the accident occurred at approximately 2:05 pm on SR-35, south of Page Mill Road.
The initial investigation indicates that the Toyota Corolla was traveling southbound on SR-35 at an unknown speed when the driver suddenly turned to the right and struck a dirt embankment on the right shoulder.
This caused the vehicle to spin out of control and collide with the Tesla Cybertruck, which was traveling in the opposite direction.
The force of the impact caused significant damage to the vehicle, with the front end and the side of the Corolla completely smashed.
Fortunately, there were no fatalities.
“The Tesla driver sustained a suspected minor injury and declined medical transportation. No other injuries were reported. It does not appear that the Tesla Cybertruck was being operated in autonomous mode. The investigation into this incident is ongoing," the report said.
Social media users were taken aback by the stark contrast in the damage sustained by the Tesla Cybertruck and the other vehicle involved in the collision.
The incident was captured in images shared on Reddit by a user with the username @boddhya. The pictures showed patrol officers in the vicinity of the Tesla car, providing a glimpse of the aftermath.
Upon closer inspection, the Cybertruck appeared to be remarkably unscathed, at least on the visible side.
The deployed airbag was visible, indicating some impact had occurred. In striking juxtaposition, the Toyota vehicle appeared to be completely totaled, with extensive damage evident.
The images sparked widespread speculation and debate online, with many expressing surprise at the seemingly minimal damage sustained by the Cybertruck.
