In a bizarre turn of events, a flight from Israel to Turkey was abruptly halted after passengers received unsettling images on their mobile phones.
The mysterious images, showing plane crashes, caused the flight to be suddenly postponed. The incident left everyone confused and concerned about the source of the mysterious pictures.
The incident occurred moments before a flight from Israel to Turkey was scheduled to depart in 2022.
According to Israeli publication Kan News, several images of plane crashes were sent to unsuspecting passengers, leaving everyone baffled about the sender's identity.
One passenger who was onboard the flight when it was aborted shared their experience: "As the plane started moving, most people received a request for a photo confirmation via AirDrop. Some approved, while others did not."
They continued, "Suddenly, the plane came to a halt, and the flight attendants asked who received the pictures."
After the unsettling images were discovered, the flight promptly returned to Israel Airport.
The police quickly arrived and escorted a passenger off the plane. An airport manager informed the passengers that a security incident had occurred.
As a precautionary measure, all luggage was removed from the plane for a secondary check.
Galei Zahal, a local radio broadcaster, revealed that 166 passengers were recipients of the concerning images.
Once the flight crew became aware of the situation, they promptly redirected the flight to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident.
One of them depicted the tragic Turkish Airlines plane crash in Amsterdam back in 2009, causing the loss of nine lives.
The second image displayed the aftermath of the Asiana Airlines Flight 214 crash in San Francisco in 2013, claiming three lives.
While investigators are still determining the source of the images, a cyberattack is also being considered as a possibility.
According to Lefler, the source of the videos originated from within the plane itself.
As a result, all passengers and luggage are undergoing additional scrutiny, and a comprehensive investigation has been launched by the police and other security officials.
Airport security is currently investigating the matter and will allow the flight to proceed once they confirm there is no risk to the plane or its occupants.
Lefler commended the flight captain for displaying great responsibility in deciding to return the aircraft to the terminal and stated that all actions taken were in coordination with the captain.
