Netizens were stunned after spotting hundreds of birds suddenly landing in a parking lot in Cypress, Texas, leaving the scene as scary as Alfred Hitchcock's movies.
On January 2, a huge flock of hundreds of birds landed in the middle of a parking lot in Cypress, Texas, creating a gloomy scene.
The incident was recorded by Yvonne Gomez on camera and quickly spread on the TikTok platform, with comments saying that the scene was like a Hitchcock horror movie.
The scene is described as a modern version of the famous 1963 horror film The Birds by author Alfred Hitchcock, according to Gomez.
According to witnesses, the flock of birds did not seem to show any signs of scared and wanted to leave due to the presence of humans.
They didn't even move when Gomez honked or someone screamed at them.
These birds were not scared as I honked, Gomez said.
According to Houston Audubon, this species of sandpiper, also known as the great-tailed grackle, often gathered in areas where humans live and have many trees.
This kind of bird is very common in the Houston area.
An environmental educator Vicki Stittleburg on Houston Audubon's website stated: Great-tailed grackles are a permanent sight in Houston and can be found in any area inhabited by humans that has some trees.
They tend to congregate in large flocks and prefer shopping centers and fast-food store parking lots where there's trash for food and trees or light posts for perching, he added.
The expert also warned that these great-tailed grackle birds have an aggressive nature and can attack anything they perceive as a predator, including humans.
