Close sources to Jackson have alleged that his high-pitched voice was not his true speaking voice and that it was only used during interviews.

In fact, a former friend of the late singer, Samm Brown III, claimed that Jackson's voice sounded much deeper in real life.

Back in 2005, Samm Brown III, the musical director, revealed the story of Jackson’s 'fake voice,' which fans were particularly intrigued by due to its incredible revelation.

During an interview with VH1, he told the outlet: “I hope he doesn’t get angry at me for telling you this, but that’s his public persona.”

He added: “I remember a time I called him up and he answered the phone and I didn’t know I was talking to him, because he was talking in his normal voice, which is pretty deep.”

However, it's worth noting that Brown was not the only individual to make such claims about the acclaimed "Smooth Criminal" singer.

Even actor David Guest made a similar admission about Jackson's voice during his appearance on Larry King Live.

Turning to the late-night TV host, Guest said: “I think people don’t know the real him. He doesn’t talk like [that].”

Interestingly, Guest's wife happened to stumble upon Jackson's real voice when she inadvertently overheard a conversation between the two men.

During the same interview with Larry King, the renowned actor Liza Minnelli claimed that she thought Jackson's high-pitched voice was real.

In addition, the A-list celebrity shared a fascinating anecdote about the pop sensation during the talk show.

According to Minnelli, who is 77 years old, she accidentally answered the phone and overheard Guest and Jackson engaged in a conversation.

Remarkably, Jackson did not use his iconic high-pitched voice during this particular conversation, which led Minnelli to call him out, although she didn't join the conversation.

She told viewers: “I said: ‘Michael, you’re busted. I got you now. All these years you’ve been talking in that voice!’"

However, the couple disclosed that Jackson's high-pitched voice served as a shield, concealing the artist's troubled past and safeguarding him from the public.

She added: “This is who you think I am and I can be me within these walls but you can’t come in.

“He’s been hurt too much, Larry. I mean, they have said kind of rotten things about him. The person that we know is a rather regular guy, believe it or not.”

In 2005,  journalist Diane Dimond remarked that Jackson had a 'big, deep voice'.

She said: “Somewhere in there, especially if you bring him bad news or if you make him mad, his voice gets very, very deep.

"I was there one day when someone asked him about Gloria Allred, the attorney that has sort of dogged him and turned around in one foul swoop and said ‘She can go to hell’ in this big, deep masculine voice."
