The shoppers were stunned after spotting their turkeys had gone "rotten." in the hours after purchasing them from supermarkets on Christmas Day.
Furious customers share the image of their 'rotten' turkeys on X. formerly called Twitter. They also shared that they bought them from Asda, Aldi, Tesco, and Sainsbury's.
The post has the caption: "Christmas Day officially ruined purchased this earlier and it's rotten. It smells absolutely disgusting. It's shocking how you can sell something that's rotten and then leave people worried where they are going to get another turkey with limited time left".
In the post, the customer recounted that when they opened their refrigerators in anticipation of Christmas Day, they were stunned after spotting that their celebratory dinner had become "slimy" and "rancid."
In the picture, the turkeys were seen as 'slimy' and 'rancid'. It was completely disgusting as the turkey's skin turned black and developed a grey dot.
The post was posted by @Bropony19942, who tagged Asda Service Team; however, they have not received a reply.
They posted on Twitter last night that they were buying it at a discounted price of £15.81 instead of £23.60.
They paid £13.60 before December 26 for the best-value turkey crown.
One person asked: Are you sure the smell is from the turkey? Have you had your hands anywhere you shouldn't and not washed them?
A second wrote: It’s a yellow sticker; why would you think it would stay fresh? You should of gone to your local butcher.
While a third user commented: Yellow sticker from Asda, what do you expect??? Sh*t has gone bad, so sticker it up. Christmas failure is on you. The family is going to be pissed. I’d be pissed you got yellow tag Turkey turkeeeeeey.
Another Aldi shopper wrote: "@AldiUK Christmas is ruined. Thank you for the rotten turkey."
Someone else said: Ive got half a pack of Aldi chicken trimmings if you're in Hull. The dog might expect a share of its mind.
