Gypsy Rose Blanchard, now 32 years old, has just announced the exciting news that she is pregnant with her first child.
This comes just 4 months after Gypsy was released from prison, having served 7.5 years for her role in the murder of her mother.
In a video on her YouTube channel, Gypsy said that she and her boyfriend Ken Urker are overjoyed by the news, though it was a complete surprise.
She shared some of the early symptoms she has been experiencing, including cravings and missed periods.
“I have already experienced the symptoms, when I first learned that I was pregnant, the first thing that I noticed was the cravings,
“Then the next thing was I noticed was the hunger, like an insatiable hunger. And then, of course, I missed my period and I didn’t think anything of it because I had seen my OBGYN and I had tested my fertility and she said ‘we’ll probably need to put you on fertility meds," she said.
“And so when I missed my period I thought I was just having issues with ovulation. It wasn’t until I had texted with Ken and he’s like ‘have you taken a pregnancy test?’
“And then I had taken a test and it turned out positive, so everything just made sense, Gypsy happily said.
Both Gypsy and her former boyfriend Nicholas Godejohn were convicted for their involvement in the 2015 murder of Gypsy's mother, Claudine 'Dee Dee' Blanchard.
At the time, Dee Dee had forced Gypsy to pretend she was suffering from various life-threatening illnesses, making her shave her head, use a wheelchair, and take medications - a case described as "Munchausen by proxy".
Because of her involvement in her mother's death, Gypsy served nearly eight years in prison, while Nicholas received a life sentence for committing the murder.
"Was she a good mom? No. Was she the best mom in the world? No. But she was still my mom so what I choose to feel about her, whether that be guilt, anger, grief, resentment; whatever," she said in a video.
Since being released from prison 4 months ago, Gypsy has quickly divorced her ex-husband Ryan Anderson, and reconnected with her former boyfriend Ken Urker.
Gypsy has said she will continue making videos for her YouTube channel, and also plans some cosmetic changes through plastic surgery, describing it as a "transformation" she's looking forward to.
In recent years, Gypsy has become a high-profile figure since being released from prison, with many interviews, articles, and even a TV series about her story.
