Alli Gardner, a 21-year-old from Indiana (USA), said her pet dog Miley helped her catch the eye of Sidney Peterson, whom she had secretly admired for a long time.
Sidney, 22 years old, took the initiative to send Alli a message on Instagram asking if he could own a dog. Earlier, Sidney had the idea of getting a dog after accidentally seeing photos of Alli with her pet dog Miley.
Alli recounts: "I have a friend from high school. Currently, she is living in a dormitory at the university with Sidney. Through my friend, I saw Sidney's photos and secretly liked him for a long time.
Loving Sidney unrequitedly was extremely difficult. I secretly cared and followed him on social media.
I liked every photo, and read every post he shared. This process lasted for months, and I still continued to do so with the hope that he would notice me.
Then one day, he told me that he had seen a photo of me and my dog. Sidney started talking to me from then on. Needless to say, I was overjoyed.
Before our first date, I remember he said that 'if he let him co-raise Miley, he promised to always be my best friend.' "
After Sidney's smooth pickup line, the two started dating. After three years of being together, Alli and Sidney decided they would get married right after the end of the Covid-19 pandemic.
