A homeowner in Pennant Hills, Sydney, has been left shaken after reviewing security footage revealing a nighttime break-in at her residence. Ming Li slept through the entire incident on March 17th, around 12:30 am.
Li became suspicious upon finding broken potted plants inside her home on Swan Place. This prompted her to check her kitchen security camera footage.
The security footage captured unsettling images of two figures, believed to be teenagers, entering the kitchen. Using a flashlight, they appear to be searching for valuables.
The blurry figures, described as "phantom-like," made three entries and exits throughout the 10-minute ordeal before leaving empty-handed.
Li feels violated and terrified by the break-in, stating she "can't sleep at night" anymore. Her son, Jason Shiwang, who was upstairs during the incident, acknowledges the potential danger they faced.
Li suspects the intruders were searching for car keys. They likely abandoned their attempt upon realizing the Lexus key fob in the driveway was broken.
The footage has been handed over to the police.
The Hills Police Area Command is investigating the incident. One suspect is described as wearing a dark hoodie, while the other wears a light-colored hoodie and a balaclava.
