Jerry Seinfeld recently made a remark about Friends, suggesting that they copied his character ideas.

This has caused a lot of discussion and attention in the entertainment industry. Seinfeld mentioned it in a video promoting his first movie as a director, called Unfrosted.

Seinfeld, known for his own highly successful sitcom, released a video in which he faced accusations of copyright infringement related to his references to "221 trademarked breakfasts" in his movie.

The clip features a fictional confrontation between Seinfeld and the president of Pop-Tarts, Kelman P. Gasworth, who accuses Seinfeld of taking something from them and vows to take something in return.

To make his argument stronger, Gasworth shows Seinfeld a glass with actors from Seinfeld's own show, like Ali Wentworth, Phil Morris, and Larry Thomas.

Seinfeld is surprised and says, "Schmoopie, Jackie Chiles, and the Soup Nazi! They're my characters!"

Gasworth confidently declares that he now owns these characters, which leads to a discussion about the frustration of having one's ideas taken by others.

Seinfeld smartly replies by teasing Friends, saying, "So you're saying it's like Friends?"

This comment refers to the ongoing discussion about the resemblances between the characters in both shows.

Seinfeld's own TV series, which was on air from 1989 to 1998, gained fame for being a "show about nothing," portraying the daily lives of a group of friends. However, at the end of the TV series, they were all in prison.

In contrast, Friends had a different way of telling stories and ended on a happier note.

The late actor Matthew Perry, who played Chandler, shared that he had asked for the final line of the series, and his co-stars agreed to it.

Despite both shows being extremely popular, they had unique styles and atmospheres.

Seinfeld's upcoming film, Unfrosted, centers around the creation of Pop-Tarts and boasts an impressive cast, including Hugh Grant, Melissa McCarthy, Max Greenfield, Amy Schumer, Peter Dinklage, Christian Slater, James Marsden, and Dan Levy.

The movie is set to be released on Netflix on May 3.

Jerry Seinfeld's claims about the TV series Friends have gained a lot of attention on social media.

He sounds bitter these days, when his show ended it was the most watched of all time now its 4th. Behind friends, big bang and office, which I would say all three are better overall, one user said.

The amount of people who are blindly defending 'Friends' while also bashing Seinfeld in this comment section is frightening, the second defended Seinfeld.

I feel like he's only ever hated on 'friends' because it rivaled his shows fame. I never cared for it at all, but growing up all I ever heard about was 'friends' and how amazing it was, another commented.

I loved both and I feel the characters were different and scenarios were different...just NY, always hanging put together, someone shared.

Whether it's true or not, at least Friends is funny. Seinfeld was always unwatchable for me. Jerry's voice is nails on a chalkboard for me and he's not funny. He seems jealous of Friends' success, in my opinion, another said.
