Kesha made a bold statement during her performance at Coachella by changing the lyrics of her song, taking aim at Diddy.
The surprise guest appearance took place during Mean Girls star Reneé Rapp's set at the music festival.
Kesha performed her popular 2010 song "TiK ToK" but decided to change the opening lyrics. The original lines goes, "Wake up in the morning like P Diddy."
However, given the serious allegations that Diddy is currently facing, including accusations of sex trafficking, sexual abuse, and rape, Kesha felt it was appropriate to alter the lyrics.
During her performance, Kesha and Rapp delivered a strong message by singing alternative lyrics to her song.
They boldly declared, "Wake up in the morning morning like 'f**k P Diddy.'"
This alteration caught the attention of the crowd, leaving them surprised and applauding Kesha's courageous gesture regarding serious allegations surrounding Diddy.
Her impactful performance at Coachella will undoubtedly be remembered as a significant moment in her career.
Glad she’s still alive and well, one user said.
The fact people hate on Kesha but what she’s been through is a product of the corruption and deceit of the industry, the second user commented.
Saying that the same thing happened to her, I'm not surprised she changed it, the third affirmed.
Don’t like any bad overrated pop music but F diddy for sure, another applauded Kesha's alteration.
She said " Wake up in the morning like f*ck P Diddy. " It was in incredibly edgy, with a dash of stunning and brave, someone wrote.
In late 2023, she performed the song and changed the opening lyrics to, "Wake up in the morning feeling just like me."
This change occurred around the same time that Diddy's ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, had accused him of rape and physical abuse.
Although Diddy firmly denied the claims, the two parties addressed a $30 million lawsuit soon after.
Coachella has been a gathering place for celebrities, and this year was no different.
Artists such as Travis Kelce, Taylor Swift, and Billie Eilish were spotted enjoying the festival and supporting their fellow musicians.
However, Kesha's performance stood out due to its powerful message against Diddy.
The accusations date back to the 1990s and have been described in multiple lawsuits where Diddy is portrayed as a violent person who uses his fame to target victims.
Recently, federal officials conducted raids at Diddy's homes in Los Angeles and Miami. The raids were related to allegations of sex trafficking.
Previously, Cassie Ventura, Diddy's ex, filed a civil lawsuit in November 2023. She claimed that Diddy had physically and sexually assaulted her for more than ten years.
Although the case was settled outside of court, it led to three additional lawsuits accusing Diddy of sexual assault. Diddy strongly denied all the allegations.
Authorities obtained search warrants and seized electronic devices like hard drives and phones. They are looking for evidence such as images, emails, documents, and itineraries.
Officials are also interviewing victims and witnesses, including three women and one man who have filed civil lawsuits against Diddy.
Diddy was prevented from boarding a private plane to leave the country.
He is currently in Florida and is under investigation. However, he has not been charged with any crimes and is still considered free.
