On a recent episode of Wheel of Fortune, a man gave an incredibly awkward wrong answer that left everyone on set stunned.
The video clip of this moment has garnered a lot of attention on social media and has caused quite a few laughs.
During the episode, the contestants, including a man named Tavaris, were given the task of solving a puzzle under the category "Phrase."
The phrase consisted of four blank spaces, followed by a new word starting with 'i' and another blank space, then 't,' a blank space, 'e,' and finally, a word beginning with 'b' with two blank spaces and an exclamation mark.
Tavaris confidently rang the bell and was invited by the host, Pat Sajak, to make his guess. Without a hint of doubt in his voice but with strong conviction, Tavaris blurted out, "Right in the butt!"
The studio fell into complete silence, followed by gaps and awkward laughter erupting across the audience.
Another contestant simply exclaimed, "What?!" Sajak, seemingly taken aback, responded with a simple "No."
Fortunately, fellow contestant Blake quickly rang her bell and saved the day by correctly answering, "This is the best!" Sajak, sounding relieved but also amused, replied, "Yeah, that's it."
According to TODAY, Tavaris later apologized to Sajak for his answer, mentioning that he was a little too excited. Sajak acknowledged the situation and expressed that they would try to handle it tastefully.
The episode will surely be remembered among viewers, not only for Tavaris' answer but also because it marked Pat Sajak's retirement after hosting Wheel of Fortune for over 40 years.
Sajak's final episode is set to air on June 7th, with Ryan Seacrest taking over as the new host.
The incident didn't escape the attention of viewers, who quickly turned to social media to express their reactions and amusement.
Some viewers dubbed it "the most embarrassing moment of all time," while others admired Tavaris for confidently saying it even though he knew it was wrong.
I was thinking pain in the butt, one user said.
“Right” spelled with four letters…well done American education system, the second said.
My face would never see the light of day if I were him, the third user commented.
That answers was still wrong because a T was already up there, another user wrote.
It can’t have been “This is the best!”The T and I of “this” would already be revealed if that was the answer, someone said.
