A homeowner in Walton, Liverpool, Jonathan Lewis, 32, was left shocked after spotting a rag doll holding a spine-chilling note within the walls of his recently purchased property.
Jonathan Lewis, 32, has just bought a new home in Walton, Liverpool, and he decided to discover the void underneath the stairs that had been boarded up his new house.
A primary school teacher left shocked after spotting a rag doll with an ominous appearance, holding a spine-chilling note, as he explored the concealed space behind the wall.
A rag doll in a wall with a terrifying note was discovered inside the wall of a new home, leaving the man stunned.
The text read:
'Dear reader/ new homeowner, thank you for freeing me!
'My name is Emily. My original owners lived in this house in 1961. I didn't like them so they had to go.
'All they did was sing and be merry. It was sickening. Stabbing was my choice of death for them so I hope you have knives.
'Hope you sleep well.'
Contents of the note reveal a tale of a doll named Emily expressing gratitude for being 'freed' and detailing dark intentions toward the original homeowners.
According to Mr. Lewis, the description of the house was only done 'four or five years ago,' and he said the note suggested that it was likely placed by the previous owners around the time of renovations to the property.
He described that house: 'There was a wire coming out where the previous owners had the fridge but I didn't know where the wire was plugged in so I knocked through a bit of the plasterboard to see what was there.
'I knocked through a hole about the size of a fist, shone a light in and there was a doll just sitting there.'
Mr. Lewis had an even lighthearted reaction to the situation when he spotted a rag doll holding a spine-chilling note inside the wall of his new property.
He said: 'The letter says 1961 but the estate agent said when she was showing me around that the kitchen was only done four or five years ago.
'I think it must have been put there then because the paper doesn't look very old and looks relatively recent.'
