In a strange incident, a man who partied for 4 days had no clue that he had been shot in the head. Even, a bullet nearly lodged in his brain.
This man's story left many people baffled and questioned about the resilience and enduration of the human body.
Mateus Facio, 21 years old, attended a party to welcome the new year 2024 with friends on a beach in Cabo Frio, Brazil.
However, for a moment, he was suddenly startled when he felt like he had just been hit on the head with a rock.
Facio said he felt pain, but it was not as long-lasting and terrible as a bullet lodged in the brain.
In addition, Facio also discovered a little blood right at the wound but it quickly stopped flowing soon after. Therefore, he ignored it and continued partying with his friends.
On January 2, Facio continued partying with friends at a local beach before returning home to Minas Gerais state.
The man shared that he often had spasms in his right arm, forcing him to stop the car many times during the 200-mile drive.
Facio still did not realize the real cause was a bullet lodged deep in his head. After a 7-hour journey, Facio returned home.
However, it took two more days for Facio to go to the hospital for a checkup because his right arm was almost paralyzed.
After going through the testing steps, doctors were shocked to discover that a bullet was lodged deep in Facio's brain.
Neurosurgeon Flavio Falcometa revealed that part of the bullet lodged deep in Facio's brain, leaving a compression in the area and causing unusual movements of his arm.
The doctor also emphasized that, if the bullet only advanced a few millimeters further, Facio could be paralyzed in one arm or even half of his body.
Fortunately, the bullet stopped where it should have stopped and did not cause further danger to Facio.
After discovering a bullet in Facio's brain, doctors performed emergency surgery to remove the bullet from his head.
The surgery was successful, and doctors predict Facio can fully recover in 30 days. He is currently being cared for at home by his family and has some positive signs of recovery.
Facio's mother expressed her emotion and felt lucky that her son was still safe after having a bullet lodged in his brain for 4 days.
She couldn't even believe that someone could survive all those days after being shot in the head.
Local police are also investigating Facio's rare accident. They took Facio's statement and are trying to find out who shot Facio.
