A Japanese native has taken on the persona of a canine by investing over $14,000 in a custom-made collie costume. This unique outfit has helped him actualize his dream of "becoming an animal."
He has shared videos on his YouTube channel, which has over 32,000 subscribers, showcasing himself wearing the costume while frolicking on a lawn, rolling on the floor, and playing fetch.
Toco even uploaded a video of his first public appearance as a dog, marking his debut as a canine in front of an audience.
In a viral clip that has garnered 1.7 million views, bystanders were left amazed as the man made his doggy debut, parading down a busy street in his custom-made collie costume.
Toco completed the costume with a harness strapped around his furry abdomen; however, he felt "nervous" and "scared" about stepping out in public as a dog.
He wrote in the clip: 'Do you remember your dreams from when you were little? You wanted to be a hero or a wizard.' He described his life-dog-dog dream as seemingly 'unrealistic.
“I remember writing in my grade school graduation book that I wanted to be a dog and walk outside.”
In a video posted last year, Toco introduced his unusual hobby by answering a series of questions. He admitted that ever since he was a child, he always “had a vague dream of becoming an animal”
"When I fulfilled that dream, this is how it turned out," he wrote in the clip. He chose to become a collie because of the negligible size difference between the breed and humans.
In spite of achieving online fame with his puppy pursuit, Toco keeps his unusual proclivities hidden from most of his friends and family.
He revealed that even his colleagues are mostly unaware that he dresses as a dog outside of work.
In the interview with the Mirror, he said: 'I rarely tell my friends because I am afraid they will think I am weird,' 'My friends and family seemed very surprised to learn I became an animal.'
He told the Daily Mail: 'I don’t want my hobbies to be known, especially by the people I work with'
