A TikTok showed that the entire crew of McDonald's seemingly quitting mid-shift has gone viral, amassing over 2.3 million views.
In the footage, the unnamed restaurant is shown with a handwritten note explaining the absence of staff, succinctly stating, 'Everyone quit, we're closed.'"
The video was shared on Tiktok by @ @zoey.isback, adding a caption that read "Well that happened today and it was so funny" accompanied by crying and laughing emojis.
The video showed the empty kitchen with no customers and no orders on the screen.
She then explained in the comment section the reason that the whole team quit that day after it was suggested it was a row over pay.
It was speculated that an entire team of workers at a McDonald's quit due to not solely about pay. Then, she explained in the comment section the reason in the below video.
"Y'all, we didn't quit from our pay," she wrote.
According to her, the decision to quit stemmed from working in a terrible environment managed by teenagers, with higher-ups reportedly unresponsive to the team's needs.
In another video posted later, she provided more context, as Zoey documented her shift, expressing dissatisfaction with her bosses and captioning the post,
"Story time? Here's a little more I barely recorded that day that's why. But idk why y'all are so interested in what happened."
The video quickly viral on social media, gaining 16.2 million views and 18.4 comments.
The video sparked a divided response from viewers. While some criticized the McDonald's crew for not being responsible in their jobs, others expressed their support in the comments.
One person said: Worker solidarity here! I’m glad everyone quit. That tells me more about how terrible the workplace there than the employees. Good for y’all.
As a customer, I would walk in, and be like ah good for them, and then leave. While a second wrote.
A third commented: This shows how workers are more important than anyone else without them the place won’t be able to run.
Someone else said: I hope it is recognized that they have a poor work ethic. If you leave a business like this, you are unprofessional.
That's why the first thing I see in the workplace is the workmate and manager and all. unlike the workspace or salary, a bad workmate or manager is unbearable. Another added.
