New York city engulfed by 'toxic smog': Record-breaking air pollution

New York City has been enveloped in hazy orange smog due to the effects of numerous wildfires occurring over 400 kilometers away.

All of the city was drowned out in polluted orange smog pollution and a disconcerting atmosphere.

According to The Mirror, the polluted atmosphere was described as a cloud of a 'Mars-like' smog and image as an 'apocalyptic' scene. The authorities urged residents to stay indoors and avoid exposure to harmful particles.

Due to the concerns over air quality that could directly affect people's health,  the New York government postpone numerous flights and public gatherings that attract large crowds.

The government has put in place many preventive measures, many cars turn on their headlights at noon to ensure safety while driving on the road. While street lights and public lights are also automatically switched on at 2 pm. to respond to the prevailing circumstances.
