Bailey Hasty, 30, and her new husband Shane, 32, were looking forward to an 8-day getaway to the Caribbean island of St. Lucia after their wedding.
However, their honeymoon plans were worsened when an airline mishap left the groom without any of his clothes.
The Texas-based couple flew out on June 3rd, but when they arrived at the airport, they discovered that Shane's luggage had gone missing.
The newlywed spent hours searching for the lost luggage, causing them to miss their first day of vacation at the Sandals Grande St. Lucian Resort they had booked.
With no sign of the suitcase, the couple had no choice but to head to the hotel.
Over the next two days, they continued contacting Delta Airlines' baggage service team in hopes of locating the missing item.
In hilarious photos posted by the couple show the software engineer reluctantly dressed in the white button-down shirt, black pants, and name tag typically worn by the resort's employees.
Instead of enjoying romantic strolls on the beach or couples massages, the groom spent his honeymoon carrying luggage, cleaning rooms, and helping guests.
This was their honeymoon, the trip of a lifetime, but her husband had to work as a hotel staff the entire time. She felt very bad for her husband.
The situation was made even worse by the fact that the airline was slow to take responsibility.
Bailey frustratedly revealed they the airline kept transferring them from one person to another, and no one seemed to know what was going on.
It wasn't until the third day that Delta finally located the suitcase, which had been mistakenly sent to another airport. By that point, the damage had already been done.
However, before that, Shane had no choice but to continue wearing the unflattering uniform, as he had no other clothes to change into.
The couple tried to make the best of the situation, even joking about the groom's new 'hotel staff' look. However, the couple shared that their entire honeymoon was completely disrupted.
This unexpected story has captured the public's attention, with many online users expressing their sympathy and humor about the newlywed man's honeymoon outfit.
This is why packing a carryon bag with contacts or glasses, medication, toiletries, swim suit, one pair of shoes and at least one day’s change of clothes is recommended, one user gave a piece of advice.
Every airline makes this mistake not just Delta, the second user shared the same experience.
This is why people needs to put AirTags inside their luggages so you can bluntly tell them where the suitcase is instead of playing where’s Waldo, the third user shared.
Almost happened to us on our honeymoon but they managed to find it! That experience taught me to never check anything that I can't easily replace at my destination, another shared their own story.
