In the video, Fred Beyer, a 21-year-old YouTuber, confidently struts down the runway at New York Fashion Week, wearing a transparent trash bag and a shower cap paired with vibrant pink shorts.
The audience at the event, organized by the social media agency Creators Inc., was not suspicious of his performance.
As he continued his walk, he periodically glanced over his shoulder. Toward the end of his catwalk, a security officer began chasing after him.
Upon reaching the runway's end, the security guard grabbed hold of him and dragged him from the stage, leaving the audience shocked.
Then, the video was shared on social media and quickly went viral, with numerous people taking to the comments section to express their opinions
One person said: Next time he needs to add cowboy boots and a Donald Duck inflatable wrap-around pool float, lol.
A second wrote: I was a runway model years ago. I don't know how he got backstage. Granted, it is very chaotic behind the scenes, but any major show checks each model before he or she walks out. These shows are expensive productions that are very planned and coordinated.
A third commented: Why did that security guard feel the need to go straight to the violent option? There was no threat. He could have just said, "Come on dude, time to go" and escorted him out.
Someone else said: With the junk that is paraded down the runway and the clowns watching thought it was part of the show, just proves that this idiocy is nothing more than bull cookies!
Another added: The people in the audience were probably saying, " I love this! The shower cap is genius and the see-through trash bag will be all the rage in 2024"
That is hilarious because the "fashion" shown there is so outrageous for men now. His outfit fit in perfectly and he had that walk down pat. Good job. Someone else commented.
Since the video's upload, some have suggested that the intruder was a YouTube prankster by the name of Fred Beyer, known for prank videos similar to this incident.
While Beyer did post a screenshot from the video on his Instagram Story, he has not yet confirmed if it was indeed him.
Nevertheless, it remains a mystery as to how the intruder managed to gain access to the fashion show.
This incident is just one example of individuals sparking discussions by emulating works of art or design.
While there's no denying they are funny, they also prompt us to consider whether the ridiculousness and banality of modern art hold deeper reflections.
Design and art pieces typically entail countless hours of dedication and hard work by a team.
However, when individuals disrupt conventions, such as entering a fashion show in a literal trash bag or placing eyeglasses on the floor, they challenge these conventional notions.
