Murray has once again found himself at the center of attention, having recently secured a jaw-dropping $10 million prize from a scratch-off game.
What makes this achievement even more astonishing is that it comes merely a year after his initial triumph of winning the same amount in a lottery.
Following his recent win, Wayne Murray, a resident of Brooklyn, received a substantial lump sum payment of $6,122,400 from his winnings.
This payout was granted after the necessary withholdings were deducted, allowing Murray to enjoy a significant portion of his newfound fortune.
Murray's triumph came through his participation in the New York Lottery's 200X scratch-off game.
It was at the H&A Gas & Convenience store situated at 4102 Ave. H in Brooklyn where he made the fateful purchase.
Regarding his most recent victory, Murray told the New York Post that despite creating history by winning the lotto twice, he didn't particularly want to make a fuss.
He said: "Some of us just like to be discreet. I just want to be discreet, that’s all it is."
It's worth noting that both of Wayne Murray's winning tickets were purchased from the same store.
Each ticket cost him $30, a relatively modest amount considering the immense wealth he now enjoys as a result.
The fact that such a small investment yielded such substantial returns further underscores the incredible fortune that has come Murray's way.
It serves as a reminder that sometimes, even a seemingly insignificant expense can lead to life-changing outcomes.
Despite his newfound wealth, Wayne Murray remains a regular customer at the gas station where he purchased the winning tickets.
According to the store clerk, Murray has not changed at all and continues to enjoy playing lottery games for the sheer enjoyment they bring.
"Twice in a row — what are the odds? You can’t even think about it. It’s not comprehensible," Nabil said.
"He’s a super regular guy here. He’s very friendly with the locals and very generous with his time. He could have moved out of the neighborhood after winning the first time, but he stood his ground. Money changes a lot of people, but he doesn’t show off or anything. He keeps it real, keeps it honest.
"It’s a game for him, so he just keeps playing. If you win, you just want to win more," Nabil added.
