A viral video showing a strange green liquid oozing from Miami International Airport left viewers stunned, wondering whether it was harmful to passenger health.

In a shocking incident at Miami International Airport, a strange green liquid was spotted cascading from the ceiling, causing disruption and intrigue among travelers.

A viral video shared by @MattWallace888 showed Miami airport flooding with mysterious lime green liquid, leaving viewers stunned.

The video has the caption: " Water from the the airport AC unit has green dye it in so "if there is ever a leak it can traced to its source." There is nothing nefarious, paranormal or subject to a government takedown as the user later suggests."

In the footage, the mysterious liquid initially covered terminal tiles and prompted the precautionary closure of affected areas with caution tape.

The mystery liquid initially spread onto the tiles in the station’s seating area, resulting in the need for seat belts to be worn in some areas and disrupting travel. 

Significant green puddles and dripping streams from above disgusted many people. 

Fortunately, no passengers were directly impacted by the spill, and there was no laughter track accompanying the unusual event.

The video quickly went viral and sparked debate on social media.

In the comments section, many shared their shock about the incident. Airport visitors expressed surprise and disbelief at the spectacle, with some stunned by the surreal scene.

One person: Time to call Ghostbusters!

A second wrote: Who ya gonna call? Ghostbusters!

While a third commented: Slimers in town, better call the ghost busters.

The incident was then investigated.

Airport officials promptly clarified the strange oozing and drenching of terminals at Miami International Airport

Miami-Dade Aviation Department Communications Director Greg Chin explained to the Miami Herald that the substance was actually water dyed green within the air conditioning system. This dye aids in tracing leaks back to their source, ensuring efficient maintenance.

The Daily Mail reported that authorities stated the liquid was glycol, which poses a hazard only if consumed.

According to reports, the incident primarily affected Concourse G, Gate G7, utilized by several prominent airlines, including Bahamasair, Porter Airlines, Southwest, Spirit, and WestJet. Cleanup crews swiftly resolved the issue by 10:30 AM, allowing operations to resume smoothly without flight delays.

The airport's official account also responded to the incident.

On X the airport wrote:  "Maintenance staff typically injects dye in chilled water pipelines to easily detect minor leaks. This fluid presented no threat to passengers and was in no way hazardous."

The airport's management expressed gratitude to affected passengers via social media. They also hoped that the situation would be swiftly handled without disrupting travel plans.
