On social media, a shock revelation that has recently gone viral involves how steak is made at the popular sandwich chain, Subway.
A TikTok account named How Food is Made (@howfoodismade) posted a video showcasing the process of preparing steak at Subway. The video, shot from the perspective of an unidentified Subway employee, has left many viewers stating they 'will never eat it again".
An overlay on the TikTok video explains, "All done fresh is the only way we do it here.”
The video begins with a robotic voice announcing, "This is how steak is made at Subway." The camera then pans to a brown, paste-like substance inside a plastic container.
Viewers were stunned after realizing this paste had become the steak used in Subway's sandwiches.
The next part of the video showed the stage of preparation. The brown paste, which resembles tuna more than steak, is transferred from the bag into a black plastic container.
The footage showed Subway's employee drop the brown contents from the bag into a black plastic container and begin to mold the mixture.
This stage of the process transforms the paste into smaller chunks of steak, each carefully measured out to 2.5 ounces.
These portions are then placed into a stainless steel container, ready to be used in Subway's assembly line.
The video showed the preparation process, however, consumers were less than impressed.
