A man on 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire' was shocked after calling his wife after choosing to 'Phone a Friend' but hearing a man's voice.
On the program 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire', a man was shocked after facing an embarrassing situation live.
The clip was originally posted in 2020, but it went viral again after one user shared it on Reddit.
In the footage, the player has a difficult question, so he chooses to call his wife for assistance. However, he ends up feeling embarrassed by this choice.
In the resurfaced clip from 2020, the player, known as JP Morgan from Lincoln, asked the difficult question on the 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?' program.
The question is: "Which of these days is part of the weekend in Germany?"
The four answers have options: A) Donnerstag, B) Mittwoch, C) Sonntag, or D) Dienstag.
However, this question left him scratching his brain and he didn't have the correct answer. This prompted him to utilize the helpful Phone a Friend option.
To tackle this question, JP Morgan decided to use the Phone a Friend lifeline, hoping his wife would help him secure a $20,000 win, only to be greeted by a different man's voice."
The available options were Donnerstag, Mittwoch, Sonntag, or Dienstag, and JP sought guidance from his wife Elizabeth, who has close family ties to Germany.
JP explained: "My wife's auntie has lived in Germany for over 50 years, my wife's been there a few times.
"My wife, who at different times would probably have been in the audience, is at home as one of my Phone A Friends."
Jeremy Clarkson approved calling Elizabeth, but a man answered when JP phoned home.
Immediately after JP pressed the dial button, he was shocked to hear a strangulation man's voice. Although it seemed to be an automated message, Elizabeth eventually answered.
Concerned by this unexpected development, popular host Jeremy Clarkson remarked, "That was a man who just answered your phone."
Recognizing that his comment had caused JP to panic, Jeremy quickly reassured him by saying, 'But relax, it could be completely innocent'.
Upon Elizabeth's response, Jeremy sought confirmation by asking, 'Can I just confirm that you've got someone there with you?'
The shocking moment left several of fans to discuss, with some asking When JP called his wife, who was the man who answered the phone? Meanwhile, some are looking for ways to expose the woman's deception.
One person said:I feel so bad for him. The amount of pain he is trying to hide is huge...
A second wrote: The "person with her" is sent from the show to check she isn't cheating. The man's voice is an automated message which plays if the person taking the call doesn't have adequate reception. Presumably the broadcast engineer just didn't cut off the message quick enough within the 5 second delay because he fucked up.
While a third commented: Jeremy really threw a couple under the bus for a cheap laugh. Now people will be bringing that up with the couple even after the show ends
Someone else said: I think realistically it was an automated service and there was a bit of a connection issue lol.
Another added: This is literally ' I've won but at what cost'
