Accroding to Newsweek, Blake Wolfe, having completed his final day at Westlake High School in Ohio on Friday. He has accumulated approximately 2,184 school days since his enrollment in kindergarten in 2009.
Although there were instances when school was canceled due to heavy snow in the state, Wolfe never missed a day of school due to illness or injury.
His mother, Dana Wolfe, said: Blake is a really good kid. He knew that school was very important and that we believed that he should be there every day.
During his 12 years in education, Wolfe identified the pandemic as the most arduous phase, as it necessitated the closure of schools and the adoption of virtual learning as an alternative approach.
He has difficulty not being able to see his friends, but he managed to persevere. However, his commitment to school and highlighting its importance to him.
During an interview with WJW, Wolfe attributed his consistent attendance to the constant encouragement he received from his parents.
He admitted that they played an important role in motivating him to attend school whenever he wanted to make up an excuse to stay home.
"There were so many days that I just wanted to make up an excuse and stay home but my mom and my dad just gave me that extra push and coming to school and seeing my friends again just made it all better," Wolfe told the news outlet.
While the motivation from his parents played a significant role in sustaining Wolfe's remarkable attendance streak, the supposed good health of his parents, David and Dana, has been the root cause behind his consistent 100% attendance throughout his academic journey
In 2021, Wolfe commenced his studies at Bluffton University in Ohio, having been granted a scholarship.
Wolfe told Fox 8 during an interview about his achievement, "There were so many days that I just wanted to make up an excuse and stay home but my mom and my dad just gave me that extra push and coming to school and seeing my friends again it just made it all better".
