Taylor Swift has sparked a wave of criticism online for the extraordinary carbon footprint she created using a private jet during the Australian leg of her Eras Tour.
On the Twitter platform, Taylor Swift has sparked a wave of criticism, for using a private jet during the Eras Tour.
Taylor Swift flew into Australia for the Eras Tour by luxury aircraft. The pop star was reported to use her Global 6000 earlier this month.
Additionally, the girlfriend of an NFL star also used this aircraft to travel between Melbourne and Sydney as she continued her tour.
A source reported that Swif even sent the aircraft to Hawaii to pick up her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, last week in Sydney so that he could watch her perform.
Additionally, on Tuesday morning, the 33-year-old megastar and her entourage departed from Australia aboard the same aircraft, headed for Singapore.
On X, formerly Twitter, one Australian critic slammed Swift for using her private jet during the Eras Tour
The post read: "If it is a catastrophe then why are celebs allowed fly around the world in their private jets? Like Taylor Swift seems to use hers like a car".
Additionally, several express their concern about Taylor Swift's use of a private jet in the Earth climate change as a 'horrific situation'.
They tweet: "Taylor Swift sent her private jet from Sydney to Hawaii to pick up her boyfriend Travis Kelce and bring him to Australia. The round trip will emit 3 metric tons of CO2.
The CO2 emissions are equivalent to melting 95.4 square feet of Arctic sea ice.
RULES FOR THEE, NONE FOR ME"
Another added: "Taylor swift has asbestos poisoning from taking too many nangs at camperdown park and landing face first in the mulch. She has been airlifted by her private jet using parramatta road as a runway to surry hills for a gay dinner, more at 10."
In response to the criticism, a spokesperson for Swift stated that she has been offsetting her carbon footprint by purchasing carbon credits, which support verified projects aimed at reducing global emissions and protecting vulnerable ecosystems.
The spokesperson also noted that Swift is actively working to reduce her jet's carbon emissions by traveling less frequently compared to previous years.
As reported by the Daily Mail, they said: "Before the tour kicked off in March of 2023, Taylor purchased more than double the carbon credits needed to offset all tour travel.".
