The mystery of the owner of the world's loneliest house

Elliðaey's house is surrounded by the sea and there are few people around.

Over the years, many tourists from all over the world have visited Elliðaey or Ellirey's island moat. It's all thanks to one home: Elliðaey's house.

There are various accounts of people once living there. However, looking at the geographical distance, many also believe that this assumption is unlikely when the house is in the middle of the ocean, without food, water or any utility services.

According to The Independent, Elliðaey's house is linked to singer Bjork, an Icelandic pop star of the early 2000s. According to many accounts, the songstress wanted to build a resort and private recording studio on a remote island, so she negotiated with the government.

However, Björk didn't have this intention, and the rumors were just rumors. In fact, Elliðaey Island was once home to five Icelandic families three centuries ago. According to The Vintage News, they lived in a rough hut and made a living by fishing, raising cattle, and hunting albatrosses, the island's iconic animals.

The island was completely abandoned in the 1930s when the entire population returned to the mainland in search of a better life.

More than 20 years later, the Elliðaey Hunter Association decided to build a house on the island as a place for its members to live and hunt albatrosses.

Elliðaey's house was conceived as an ideal getaway, a world away from the hustle and bustle of the modern world, but it lacked the bare minimum of amenities such as electricity, water, or even indoor plumbing.

Although there is no human presence, Elliðaey Island is considered a national nature reserve. This is also considered an interesting tourist destination. However, visitors cannot stay in the house unless they are members of a hunting association.
