Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, a renowned actor in Hollywood, is facing a lawsuit alleging that he caused a staggering $50 million in costs due to his tardiness on the set of a film shoot.
The incident occurred when Johnson arrived eight hours late for the production.
The film in question is titled "Red One," which is scheduled for release in November 2024.
It revolves around the story of a heroic operative teaming up with a skilled tracker to rescue Santa Claus and save Christmas.
Initially slated for a 2023 Christmas season release, the delay was initially attributed to labor strikes from the previous year.
According to sources, Johnson's delayed arrival forced the film crew to work around him, resulting in significant financial consequences. Allegedly, the costs incurred due to the delay amount to a staggering $50 million.
Amazon MGM Studios, the production company behind the film, has denied any problems caused by Johnson's lateness.
A spokesperson for the studio emphasized the strength of the film and praised Johnson's dedication and support.
They dismissed the claims of Johnson's late arrival and the resulting costs as both ridiculous and false.
The spokesperson stated: “Dwayne Johnson and Seven Bucks have been incredible partners on Red One - a film that audiences of all ages are going to love this holiday season,
“Our testing has been very strong - the reaction from CinemaCon speaks for itself - and we couldn’t have made it without Dwayne’s constant work and support.
"Any reporting that implies that we got to this point with him showing up 8 hours late to set is both ridiculous and false.”
John Cena, another actor in the franchise, acknowledged rumors of disagreements, stating that their strong personalities and ambition could be the cause.
The allegations claim that Johnson has upset crew members with his practice of urinating in water bottles instead of using public bathrooms.
Although it is not confirmed whether Dwayne Johnson pees in water bottles on film sets, he has previously admitted to using a water bottle for urination during his workouts.
