When animal-loving owners wish to share their sleeping space with their pets, they never want to leave their furry friends alone.
However, some owners feel upset about sharing a room with their pets for several reasons, including allergies to pet hair, wanting a clean room with unpleasant pet odors, and so on.
What do you think about it? With the number of people saying goodbye to furry friends, it is very hard for them. Even opting to put their pets outside is one of the most difficult choices for them
On Reddit, a vet from Texas shared a heartfelt plea, urging owners not to leave their pets alone during euthanasia.
In the post, the veterinary technician makes a heartfelt plea to the owners: 'Their pets should not be euthanized alone.'
In the post, the vet shares the story of how wishes could have ended differently.
She heartbreakingly shared that the dog spent its final moments looking for where their owner went. The poor dog just wants the owner here to comfort them.
She added that she felt upset when the owner put them alone, causing the dog to cry and attempt to walk himself out of the front door.
She admitted that she is not judging the owner's emotional grief but she wanted to say that "a dog euthanized literally tried so hard to walk himself out the front door" with his leash after his owners left. He would cry and stress out until the propofol got him."
She was bummed that those were the dog's final moments. He is a good boy and he could relax more.
One person said: Exactly! I don’t get why people get so worked up over this. It’s literally no different than when we put a pet under anesthesia. They come in confused and sometimes afraid, then they go to sleep. Emotionally for the pet, it’s identical. It’s not like they’re thinking “oh my god, I’m dying alone.”.
A second wrote: I know, it hurts my heart :/ I understand why it would be too much to see as a pet owner, but in my opinion, you sign up for a pet for its entire life- death is part of it. So when that happens I just try to be there for the pet and comfort them as best I can. Either way, it’s not easy.
A third commented: I just put my dog to sleep yesterday and on one hand, I wanted to be with him until the end but on the other hand, i would be balling out tears like crazy. I still feel guilty for not being with him until the end but I guess its good i didn't have to see him die.
