Leonardo DiCaprio's film "Killers of the Flower Moon" received numerous nominations at the Oscars, yet the actor himself was notably absent from the event.
Despite the movie's impressive 10 nominations at the 96th Academy Awards, including a nod for Best Picture, DiCaprio, who starred alongside Robert De Niro and Lily Gladstone in the Martin Scorsese-directed historical drama, opted not to attend.
As a veteran of the Oscars, having previously been nominated multiple times and winning Best Actor for "The Revenant," DiCaprio's absence left viewers questioning his whereabouts during the ceremony.
On social media, fans expressed curiosity and speculated about why he did not attend the Oscars.
One person joked: He is upset about his girlfriend just turned 26 yesterday.
A second wrote: Why? His performance in Flowers of the killer moon was absolutely brilliant. A great actor!
While a third commented: The real Leo is dead. He died when Rose kicked him off that door. He was replaced with an imposter.
Some attributed his absence to disappointment over not receiving a Best Actor nomination for his role in "Killers of the Flower Moon," considering it a snub.
However, reports from Entertainment Tonight suggested that DiCaprio's absence was due to a scheduling conflict rather than any perceived snub.
While the Oscars took place, DiCaprio was reportedly busy working on his upcoming film directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, alongside Sean Penn and Regina Hall, known by its working title, "BC Project."
Although DiCaprio wasn't present to support "Killers of the Flower Moon" at the Oscars, he has previously spoken highly of the film and its cast.
