In a viral TikTok video, a woman shares a horrible moment faced with an unruly child on a flight.
On the TikTok platform, user @shaylamonnier expresses their shock during a flight from Atlanta to Denver.
Shayla Monnier and her husband, Andrew, found themselves seated behind a couple and their young daughter on a flight from Atlanta to Denver.
The child, estimated to be between three and five years old, intermittently turned around to blow raspberries at the couple, showering them with spittle despite her parents' attempts to intervene.
In a viral video, Shayla recounted the incident.
According to Monnier, the child had initially been asleep between her parents for a significant portion of the flight. However, upon waking, she became interested in the passengers seated behind her. This curiosity led to repeated instances of blowing raspberries, resulting in spit landing on Monnier and her husband.
She said: 'She turned around a third time. Now, when I say spit I mean (blowing raspberry) but spit was going everywhere.
Shayla Monnier and her husband found the child's parents to stop the incident. However, their efforts failed.
'After the third time, my husband very sternly said to the parents, 'If you don't get your kid under control, I'll do it for you,' and 'why don't you put a mask on her? You guys are both wearing masks, why doesn't she have a mask?'.
She said: 'I was kind of shocked and the parents like told her not to and then it just became a thing,' she added.
'And she fought against them and turned around on the seat and spat on us again."
In response to Shayla Monnier's complaint, 'The mother disregarded her child's unruly behavior and even yelled back at her husband.
Shayla Monnier's husband said: 'We have five children and six grandchildren and I promise you not one of them would do something like that'.'
In the commen selection, some suggested wiping the spit on the parent’s arm, while others empathized with the frustration.

While a third commented: Parents that don't parent coupled with a massive sense of entitlement is why we're actually discussing this. Those parents are doing a disservice to their child if they are not teaching how to behave in public.
Someone else said: It is all too common to find parents who were raised with zero manners and are raising their babies the same way. Standing up to this behavior shows parent and child this is not acceptable behavior. Sadly there are also parents who feel entitled and allow their children this behavior.
Another user added: 100% agree with you!!! By the way……. There was no negotiating when we were kids.
Someone else said: Parents are horrible now - gentle is a fail. Your options are genius. You’re in the right!.
