In a TikTok video, a woman revealed that her company's HR department suggested bed-sharing among employees during their work trips.
In a video uploaded on February 23, a New Jersey woman left viewers stunned after revealing that her company's HR department had requested employees to share both a room and a bed.
In the footage, Tiktoker expressed her astonishment upon receiving an email from HR about the logistics of an impending retreat to Paris.
She said that HR had allowed employees to skip the question regarding room sharing if they chose to do so.
The email read: 'You will notice in the survey that you have the option to share a room with a colleague, be advised that at present booking status, there is only one bed in the room.'
The New Jersey TikTok user expressed her shock, mentioning in the video that she had to read the email three times over.
The New Jersey TikTok user, who was supposed to be a graduate of Cornell University, did not mention her place of employment.
However, she previously shared a TikTok video in December showcasing a corporate retreat in the French Alps.
It appears, from the expression on her face in the more recent video, that the previous trip might not have embraced the same concept.
Discussing the forthcoming retreat, she mentioned: 'That was an option... Suggested, encouraged - HR was like typing that up, sending it, drinking their glass of wine.'
She added: 'I didn't know that this was even possible in a corporate setting.'
Several users even suggested that it is "illegal" in their opinion. In response to this comment, several others have stated that they would never share a room with a colleague.
One person said: YES I would refuse. What are the employees experimental humans.
A second wrote: If a company is that cheap, you might wish to find a new job. Now I could see them offering private rooms and option share room with two beds with perks if it saves money.
While a third commented: If the company can't afford to book separate rooms for their employees then they can't afford to put on the 'retreat' in the first place and maybe should live within their means and just host an employee BBQ!
Another added: I would think she would be thankful to work for a corporation that provides retreats at no cost to exotic locations around the World. There is always an air mattress, sleep on the sofa, the floor or perhaps a roll away. Paris is much better then Chicago, New York or Detroit...
