TikToker Tammy Nelson posted a video sharing her own airline travel story, and the clip has been viewed over 2.8 million times.
In her video, she posed the question: 'What would you do?' regarding her recent predicament.
Tammy Nelson sparks debate after sharing a story of refusing to give up her window seat for a mom to be near her two children. The video is going viral.
'I got on the plane and a woman was sitting in my seat and when I mentioned it to her, she said, ''Oh, you want to sit here? I thought we could switch because these are my kids'' (she points to the two seats next to mine).'
According to Nelson, she would be happy to swap seats with the mother, but on the condition that she could move to another window seat. However, the mother's original seat was a cramped middle seat between the aisle and window. The mom pointed to the row behind them and said, 'points to the row behind us and says, ''Mine is right there.'' (It's the middle seat.).'
In the footage, she also said she had only 90 minutes of sleep the night before and was about to give a presentation to around 500 people.
She expressed feeling "desperate" for some rest ahead of her work event and preferred the window seat for better comfort. This is the reason why she refused to give up her window seat for the mom to be near her two children
In her TikTok caption, Nelson also mentioned that the kids whom the mother wanted to sit next to were teenagers.
She shared that the mom continued to complain about the situation for at least 15 minutes. However, Nelson was grateful as another passenger sitting nearby came to her defense and supported her decision.
'Before anyone comes after me,' she wrote, 'the kids looked like they were about 11 and 15 years old. And the mom was in arms-reach of both of them from the middle seat in the row behind us.'
'But the woman actually defended me – several times. It was so kind and I appreciated it so much because I was feeling really guilty.'

One person commented: It’s your seat. It’s okay you wanted to keep it!
I literally paid for a window seat and someone tried to argue with me to switch them… like why didn’t you pay if u wanted it so bad? Another commented.
Glad you stood up for yourself. You got the seat and rest you needed-hopefully she learned a lesson and won't try to cheap out again, another said.
