A woman has sparked debate after posting a video on TikTok, sharing the 'normal way' to shower after realizing she and her mother's faces are opposite.
A content creator who goes @alittlebitlovey on Tiktok, named Alexandra 'Lovey' Lee, 29, from Southern California, has made a shocking revelation.
The video quickly went viral on social media and gained 5.5 million views and 21,000 comments. She shared her shock at discovering the 'normal way' after spotting the difference between her and her when they faced opposite directions in the shower.
The video has the caption, "Now I need to know, what is the normal way to shower?!?"
She explained in the video that she realized both she and her mother have two ways to shower and do the opposite thing. She started to spot the issue when her husband was repairing their shower. For advice on where to place the shower bench, she consulted her mother.
She claimed that when she turns her face away from the shower head, water runs down her back and hair during her showers.
'Of course, I'll turn around occasionally and move around,' she added.
However, she realized that there was a difference between her and her mother. According to the influencer, her mother faces the shower head and allows the water to splash onto her face and upper body.
She said that when it was revealed that their tastes were utterly different, her mother was equally shocked.
'I feel the normal way to shower is with the shower head behind you when you're facing that way. Is anyone else surprised by this?' she asked.
Numerous users have given comments and shared their thoughts about the 'normal way' to shower
One person said, Back to the water; rotate when needed. There is no other way that makes sense.
A second wrote: Face away from the water, except for washing your face. So interesting, lol!
A third commented: I cannot believe there are voluntary water facilities. I only turn around and face the water when necessary.
While someone else said, As a primary water facer, it doesn’t hit me in the face. It just falls down the front, and you step into the stream when you need to wash your face.
I’m confused. Whatever side is being soaped and scrubbed is facing away from the water until it’s time to rinse off. No? Another added.
However, if she was seeking a clear answer about the 'correct' way, she didn't get it; the responses appeared to be almost evenly divided.
Perhaps it was challenging for her when there was an equal split between people facing each other or not.
